2010 release from the American Death Metal band. Hailing from Georgia and Texas, Vasaeleth are a new group featuring members from Legions Of Astaroth and Dagon. They've released a well-received demo and EP, both in limited quantities that sold out instantly. Crypt Born And Tethered To Ruin, their ultra-brutal, doomy debut album, will cement the band's place among the premiere acts in the Death Metal underground. Conjuring the specters of the legendary Incantation, Autopsy, and Mortician, it delivers a bracing reminder of the old-school glory days when raw, guttural Death Metal ruled supreme.
This give to us some advantages, like this :
1. GIVE ME MOAR BROODLE DETH METULL
Seems a Death Metal revival of sorts is well underway. With this of course comes all the garbage and imitations...but keep digging and you find the gems. The effort by Vasaeleth is one of those gems.
Do you like it raw, with slightly muddy production? Atmospheric darkness so thick it is psychologically suffocating for the listener? I just got this album and it delivers in all the above mentioned ways. Certainly executed in the spirit of Death Metal, not an imitation, but genuine authentic effort. I look forward to hearing their newest release, "All Uproarious Darkness".
Buy this for the enjoyment of the soothing sounds of the illimitable abyss and glorious sense of inexorable doom that comes with it.
